Sarebbe semplicistico e sbrigativo liquidare l'uscita di questo nuovo album dei Calicanto like a PC, any one of many coming out in 2011. Perché se la produzione precedente era l'esito di un processo teso a ricollocare il senso della tradizione nel contemporaneo (spartiacque, almeno per noi, lo splendido " Labirintomare " del  2001), qui il suono tradizionale  (quanto a fonti testuali e musicali definiti, desunti da documenti o dalle pratiche orali) è ormai residuale, appena evocato, evaporatasi nella composizione originale prevalente. Un  legame diventato flebile, comunque affermato simbolicamente dalla rivisitazione di uno dei cavalli di battaglia di sempre, " Stanotte m'ho insognà ", e dai  pur presenti rimandi nelle armonizzazioni e nell'uso di strumentazione acustica d'estrazione popolare (organetto, cornamusa).

Nella ricercata (e diremmo naturale) dissoluzione della forma-folk perseguita dal gruppo, la c omposizione approda a un'espressività di sintesi che salda matrici folcloriche del territorio (area veneta-istriana-mediterranea) ad armonie più collocabili nell'ambito della musica colta contemporanea europea e nel minimalismo americano, capaci di dialogare con il teatro e la poesia, con l'impasto di dialetti e linguaggi disparati che realizzano la magia di ricomporsi in un 'discorso' integro e consistent.
