nuclear power is not in the public interest

. instrumental attacks we have seen in the media in recent weeks against incentives for renewable energy have always failed to explain what was the return for the entire country in terms of employment, tax revenues, generated welfare, environmental protection and health of citizens. Especially in a period of severe economic downturn during which this was just one of the few areas in contrast, which are currently employed directly and indirectly over 120 thousand people.
We also believe that the parallel government's attempt to give an assist to the resumption of nuclear power is not in the common interest of the Italians. The nuclear business worldwide is heavily subsidized by governments - and then always by the people - but, unlike renewable energy, exposes all of us at real risk, documented and unpopular. We challenge anyone to make an honest comparison between rural renewable and nuclear energy and to obtain the consent of the voters. In this regard, the recent attempt to address public opinion in favor of nuclear power through an advertising campaign sponsored by Forum Nuclear and cost € 6 million has clashed with the stop of the Jury of advertising self-regulation, demonstrating that even such a large amount of money can bring concrete reasons as strong and positive as to convince the public without adulterating or omit critical information on which to make a conscious choice.
One limitation to the growth of renewables in Italy will inevitably lead our country not to meet the commitment made to the European Union, according to the Europe 2020. It would be un implicito tentativo di tenere l'Italia legata a doppio filo alla dipendenza energetica da altri Paesi. L'energia da fonti rinnovabili è l'unica scelta che tutela i molteplici interessi di tutti i cittadini, in quanto salute e ambiente sono temi che coinvolgono inevitabilmente ogni persona, nessuno escluso. E pensiamo che i primi a doversi riconvertire in modo netto con modelli di business che generino sì ottimi profitti, ma muovano anche a vantaggio economico e di salute dei cittadini siano proprio i grandi produttori di energia, oggi gli unici beneficiari della scelta nucleare.
