Una volta arrivati i rifiuti (che permettono al comune di incassare 13 euro a tonnellata, oltre un milione di euro lo scorso anno), i compattatori partono molto rapidamente, li riducono in balle in pochi minuti, tanto che, come dice il sindaco Angelo Rosa,

siamo tanto veloci che anche i gabbiani non trovano nulla da mangiare.

Questa rapidità gli permette di avere tanto spazio in discarica, ma soprattutto non far fermentare l’immondizia che crea quell’aria irrespirabile che conosciamo benissimo visto che ci è stata raccontata in tutte le salse nella cronaca di Napoli. In pratica i cittadini non si accorgono nemmeno della presenza della discarica, e così gli unici odori cattivi che arrivano, quando arrivano, sono da attribuire agli allevamenti presenti intorno al centro abitato, non di certo all’immondizia.

Infine le eco-balle vengono trasportate al vicino impianto a biogas che produce elettricità per il comune. Risultato? Ma ero anche attratto dalla bellezza tutta terrena dei versi dei poeti-pastori della Gallura e del Logudoro; ho a lungo cercato un punto di incontro tra questi universi poetici apparentemente distanti tra loro. Oppure, appunto su un pezzo di carta una sequenza di note che potranno tornare utili quando attraversi qui lunghi periodi di vuoto pneumatico.

Per le riprese, che curo con particolare attenzione benchè di solito avvengano tra le mura di granito di una ex fabbrica di sughero o in un piccolo stazzo nella campagna gallurese, utilizzo due Akg C414 ed un Neuman TLM 103.

Dopo aver fatto un primo editing del materiale registrato, facciamo i mixaggi in uno studio professionale dove il suono viene riscaldato da compressori valvolari, da riverberi ed equalizzatori inarrivabili e il master su Pro Tools assume caratteristiche da standard professionali.

Dai tempi di "Speradifoli" lo studio di riferimento è Lo Ziqqurath, nei pressi del tempio preistorico di Monte d' Accoddi, a Porto Torres. Un luogo magico e silenzioso...

Per "Elmusura", abbiamo registrato lì le voci di Rosa Temprano, cantante celtica delle Asturie, e di Shirin Demma, siciliana di Lentini, mentre la voce di Paola Giua è stata ripresa nella Fabbrica di Silverio, a Luras.

Per non negare una ulteriore chance al disco, abbiamo affidato a Claudio Giussani, ingegnere del suono di grande talento, il mastering finale al Nautilus di Milano".

Che diffusione ha l’album?

" Non ho una distribuzione nazionale ma Tronos, coraggiosa piccola etichetta sarda di Lelle Salis, spedisce anche un singolo cd in tutto il mondo e distribuisce i singoli brani in rete. Questo, al momento, è lo stato delle cose!".

Dovendo guardare alla tua produzione ormai ultraventennale, come collochi questo tuo ultimo lavoro soprattutto rispetto alla ricerca sul campo?

" Credo, e lo dico con sommessa vanità, che questo sia il miglior disco che io abbia fatto, per la cura negli arrangiamenti, rimasti volutamente essenziali, per la scelta degli strumenti e dei musicisti, per i testi, colti e popolari, e per la bellezza delle voci.

Un lavoro più maturo anche dal punto di vista compositivo. Almeno così a me appare. Non è certo un disco di folk-revival, d'altro canto, tranne che per due tradizionali, i restanti nove sono di creazione...  Ho del resto dedicato diversi lavori alla ricerca sul campo, a cominciare dal canto monodico di Maria Multineddu, alla polivocalità del canto a 'a tasgja', al racconto immaginifico nell'habitat disperso della Gallura o a quello agropastorale dell'Anglona.

Però credo ci sia più di un riferimento alla mia terra d'origine, la Sardegna, che non ha un solo suono ma più suoni; e fonemi e parole sedimentate nei secoli da fenici, punici, etruschi, romani, bizantini, catalani, spagnoli che hanno fatto della mia gente un popolo di una speciale identità, orgoglioso e tollerante, povero ma solidale, sommesso ma mai del tutto sottomesso.

Che idea hai della scena contemporanea del folk in Italia?

"Probabilmente la stessa che il folk italiano, a cominciare da chi la potrebbe diffondere, ha di quella sarda!".

C’è qualche autore in attività che consideri particolarmente significativo?

"Forse non può essere ascrivibile all'area folk (?) ma mi piace molto Nabil Salameh dei Radioderwish".

Quali i tuoi progetti futuri?
" S crivere musica per immagini. E resistere, comunque!"

Roberto De Simone (ed.) -" Son Six Sisters "(book + 7CD - Edizioni Squi [Books] Rome in November 2010)

L'ottima casa editrice romana Squi[Libri] torna in libreria con un eccezionale documento sulle tradizioni popolari della Campania curato dal grande ricercatore e compositore  (oltre che scrittore, musicologo, regista teatrale) Roberto de Simone . Un volume di oltre 350 pagine (€95 il prezzo di copertina) che, con l'ausilio di sette CD allegati raccolti in cofanetto, documenta di un mondo tramontato, a rischio di oblio, restituitoci soltanto grazie a decenni di ricerche tra i portatori della tradizione campana. 

Sono Giulia Ciletti (lamentatrice funebre), Giovanni Coffarelli (cantatore dalla potenza vocale straordinaria), Rosa Nocerino , "regina del tamburo", e tanti altri nomi misconosciuti quando non ignorati che De Simone ha avuto l'opportunità di incontrare e registrare sul campo secondo i dettami dell'etnomusicologia classica.

Scrive De Simone nell'introduzione: "(...) Parole dure, inappellabili, per denunciare la gra nde mistificazione del mercato tritatutto, riportando alla luce un patrimonio straordinario per varietà e complessità delle forme, per la commovente verità restituita dalla registrazione sul campo, per l'emozione insita in una storia tramontata per sempre, che non è e non sarà mai più.

Testi in originale (e relativi adattamenti in italiano), voci, canti  e musiche (per un totale di quasi 9 ore di registrazioni!), un'analisi accurata delle forme musicale e degli strumenti documentano la ricchezza di quell'universo perduto: sono fronne, canti a figliola , tammurriate, strambotti, tarantelle, persino insospettabili rari canti politici e sociali che sconvolgono nel profondo all'ascolto, costringono a mantenere uno sguardo critico verso il contemporaneo imprensentabile che viviamo.

Esemplari, a questo proposito, gli  articoli in appendice scritti da De Simone per "Il Mattino" tra il 2005 e il 2007, amaro caustico resoconto del degrado culturale (istituzionale) irreversibile patito da Napoli e dal territorio...

Discarica di amianto di Cappella Cantone (CR), l'ultimo tentativo d'imbroglio di Regione Lombardia e Cavenord, ma non passeranno.

L'intreccio tra interessi politici ed economici sono sempre più evidenti nella vicenda della discarica di amianto di Cappella Cantone (CR), come dimostrano i fatti resi noti in questi giorni.

Riassumiamo brevemente cosa sta accadendo:

A) Il 17 novembre 2010 la Regione rende noto che la Cavenord ha dieci giorni di tempo per presentare controdeduzioni, diversamente la discarica non si farà.

B) Alla scadenza dei dieci giorni, visto che non viene resa pubblica la notizia dell'avvenuto deposito delle controdeduzioni, all the press and interested bodies consider the matter closed.
